UPS Racks - Definition

UPS racks, also known as rackmount racks, are a special form of uninterruptible power supply (UPS), which are mounted in standardized rack housings or cabinets in data centers or server rooms.

They are specially adapted to the needs of rack-mounted environments and provide protection for electronic devices and servers. This makes optimum use of the limited space available. UPS racks function like conventional UPS devices by switching to the integrated battery in the event of a power failure. UPS racks are available in various sizes and capacities, allowing for easy scalability. The UPS racks are controlled and monitored by network management functions that display the status of the UPS devices.

UPS racks therefore play an important role in the continuous availability of IT systems and servers. They offer protection against data loss, operational interruptions and hardware failures.
