A cloud solution is a technology or service in which data, resources, computing power or application software are provided and used via the internet or a private network.
These IT resources are available on demand and are not operated locally on physical servers or computers. Therefore, it is not the user but the provider who has to maintain the software and take care of updates. As far as data protection is concerned, the user must choose a trustworthy provider.
The advantages are scalability, flexibility and cost efficiency. There are no costs for in-house IT hardware and only low costs for IT staff. In addition, little effort is required so that the company can concentrate on its core business.
