Eaton Brightlayer Distributed IT-Lite offers a centralised solution for monitoring and managing your IT and power supply infrastructure. UPS units, PDUs and other supported devices can be monitored centrally, critical events detected at an early stage, and IT processes automated.

Important information: Since 1 July 2026, Eaton Intelligent Power Manager (IPM) has been known as Eaton Brightlayer Distributed IT-Lite (Brightlayer DIT-Lite).

Eaton Brightlayer Distributed IT-Lite helps companies keep a centralised overview of their IT and power supply infrastructure. Supported devices, such as UPS systems and PDUs, can be monitored and managed via a single platform. This allows important operational data to be viewed, faults to be detected at an early stage and automatic responses to be triggered in the event of critical incidents. Features such as notifications, reports, device management and automation also simplify day-to-day management.
The DIT-Lite solution is designed for small and medium-sized environments with up to 50 devices. If you require a solution for a larger infrastructure, Eaton offers Brightlayer Distributed IT as a suitably scalable alternative.
UPS systems are among the most critical components of an IT infrastructure. Yet they are often only given attention when a fault or outage occurs. In an era of decentralised IT landscapes featuring data centres, edge locations and branch offices, however, this approach is no longer sufficient.
With Brightlayer, Eaton offers a software portfolio that provides companies with a centralised overview of their energy and IT infrastructure. The platform monitors UPS systems, PDUs and other networked systems, provides real-time information on system status and helps to identify potential risks at an early stage. At the same time, both Eaton devices and components from other manufacturers can be integrated.
DIT-Lite goes well beyond the mere monitoring of UPS systems. The software enables:
In the event of an emergency, DIT-Lite can react automatically: first, non-critical loads are reduced; then virtual machines are shut down or migrated in an orderly manner; and, if necessary, entire clusters are shut down in a controlled manner. This helps to prevent data loss and make the best possible use of the available battery runtime.
From July 2026, Eaton will be further developing the well-known Intelligent Power Manager 2 (IPM2) and continuing it under the name Brightlayer Distributed IT-Lite (DIT-Lite). This is not merely a rebranding, but a further development within the Brightlayer portfolio. The technical foundation remains unchanged, meaning that existing IPM installations can continue to be used without the need for complex conversion. At the same time, new features and additional integrations will be introduced.
With DIT-Lite, Eaton is targeting small and medium-sized enterprises in particular that wish to actively protect and automate their power supply and virtualisation environments. The solution supports environments with up to 50 power devices per site and combines energy monitoring with intelligent automation functions.
Brightlayer DIT-Lite is the latest evolution of the previous IPM solution within the Brightlayer platform. The solution carries forward the functions of the previous IPM product range into the current Brightlayer platform and offers various licensing models and contract terms.
If you are already using the Eaton Intelligent Power Manager (IPM), your existing IPM licences may still be valid. For new projects and current licences, Brightlayer Distributed IT-Lite is the right solution. It enables you to centrally monitor and manage supported UPS systems, PDUs and other devices.
You can purchase Brightlayer DIT-Lite either as a time-limited subscription or as a perpetual licence. First, decide on the appropriate licence model and then select the desired number of devices to be managed.
Important: You are purchasing the right to use the software for a specific period. Software updates and upgrades are included during the defined term.
When the subscription expires, the licence can be conveniently renewed so that you can continue to enjoy the benefits of DIT-Lite.
Benefit: Purchase the software for perpetual use. You will receive software updates and upgrades for 5 years.
After that, the maintenance period can be extended on a voluntary basis to continue receiving updates and support, thereby keeping DIT Lite up to date.

The expanded support for modern virtualisation platforms is particularly exciting for many IT managers. The solution already supports platforms such as VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, Nutanix and Dell VxRail. With DIT-Lite, an important new addition has now been made: Proxmox VE. The software is now available in a version optimised for Proxmox, enabling seamless integration of power supply and availability management into Proxmox-based virtualisation environments.
For medium-sized enterprises in particular, the new Proxmox integration opens up additional opportunities to increase the availability of their virtualised infrastructure and to utilise automated protection mechanisms in the event of power failures.
