Data Security - Definition

Data security refers to the implementation and aim of protecting digital information. This protection is aimed at preventing unauthorized access, theft or damage. On the one hand, it involves controlling the physical security of hardware, and on the other, access controls and the security of software applications.

Not only personal data, but also non-personal data should be secured. This is made possible by the use of technologies and tools that provide an overview of the security status of the data. However, they should also include protective measures such as encryption or data masking of sensitive data.

Data security is very important in the digital world, as data plays a major role in almost all areas of life and the business world. The loss of this sensitive data can therefore have serious consequences, so companies and individuals should implement effective data security measures.
