Meshed Network - Definition

A “meshed network” is a network topology in which every network component is directly connected to every other node in the network.

In this network, there are several paths through which data can travel from one point in the network to another. These direct connections ensure increased reliability and resilience of the network.

Meshed networks are used in high-voltage networks, data centers, corporate networks and telecommunications infrastructures. They are also easily scalable by adding new nodes and simply connecting existing nodes. However, as they have many connections and require hardware, they are more expensive and complex than other network topologies. Nevertheless, they are considered a robust and reliable solution for data traffic.
